The National Center on Protection Orders and Full Faith & Credit (NCPOFFC) is a project of the Battered Women's Justice Project. Our mission is to facilitate implementation of the Full Faith and Credit clause of the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA) in all states, tribes and territories by raising public awareness of the statute’s requirements and by providing problem-solving technical assistance and support to individuals and jurisdictions; to victims, survivors and advocates.
We provide ongoing assistance and training on:
- Full Faith and Credit.
- Federal firearms prohibitions related specifically to domestic violence.
- Federal domestic violence and stalking crimes.
- Inter-jurisdictional child custody cases involving domestic violence.
To victims and survivors of domestic violence and abuse, we do not provide direct legal services. If you are in danger, please dial 911. Also note that for your protection, when you place a call or email--in particular to support services--you should do so from a safe environment as your telephone and/or email could be monitored.
